A POOLE man is due to appear in court today charged with importing a powerful hallucinogenic drug.
Christopher Brain, of Frobisher Avenue, is accused of two counts of importing N,N-Dimethyltryptamine, otherwise known as DMT, with intent to evade a prohibition or restriction.
Prosecutors claim the alleged offences were committed between August and November 2018.
DMT can be injected, smoked, snorted or mixed with ayahuasca, a traditional spiritual medicine in ceremonies among the indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin.
Brain, 38, is also charged with one count of possessing the class A and one of possessing class B cannabis.
He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court this morning.
